Andes Mountains - January 8th

The Andes Mountains.
We had made the decision to only stay at the Hotel Orley for two nights instead of three when we were in Vina Del Mar. But after we had such a great day in Santiago we were thinking maybe we made a mistake. But we had made an arrangement with our driver from the day before to pick us up at noon and take us to Cascada de las Animas so we left.
It was about 1 1/2 hours to the resort. Which is actually an Eco Friendly Ranch that had Trekking, Horseback riding, Rafting and a Zipline. The place is huge! We wanted to go hiking and horseback riding in the Andes. So we scheduled a hike Thursday afternoon to the waterfall and a horseback ride Friday morning.
Below are a number of pictures from the Ranch and our hike to the waterfall.
Jayson tried rock climbing.
It wouldn't be a vacation if I didn't fall and hurt my knees. So here is the aftermath of this trip's fall. We were on the way to dinner, and I slipped on the rolly gravel on the steep driveway. I wish I could say it was on a hike while battling a snake, but no. I was walking to dinner with tennis shoes on, not even flip flops!!!! ugh.

Dinner at the resort, La Triba. We had a great table. The Sun had just moved behind the mountain and we dined listening to the sound of the river.

This was our view from our table. For dinner we started with the cheese plate. Then I had a Veggie Crape, and Jayson had the Spicy Thai Seafood dinner.

For dessert we had this raspberry/rum crape. It was very good.

Here's the video of our first day at the ranch.
